Solstice Communications for Elephant Filmworks

ELEPHANT FILMWORKS CREATES WEB SERIES “THE LINES” FOR ALLSTATELocal production company creates compelling online stories for teens
Chicago, IL (DATE)—Elephant Filmworks (EF), an award winning full service production and post-production company founded in the Chicago area, has worked with brand names you might have heard of. These names include Firestone, the Chicago Bears, and Quaker Oats. To add to this list, EF recently finished a teen drama for the web with Allstate Insurance. You might wonder why Allstate would produce a teen centric project, but the series titled “The Lines,” promotes safe driving among teens.
“This was an awesome storytelling opportunity for an exciting, emerging platform,” says Peter Williams, executive producer of Elephant Filmworks. “Allstate’s end goal was to connect with a younger demographic online, and we worked hard to create an honest story that speaks to teens in their own voice. The opening season may be brief, but a lot of development is packed into the episodes.”
A cutting edge new web series, “The Lines” follows six teens as they make important decisions both on and off the road. Though on-road scenes were important for the development of the series, believable characters in compelling situations was the most important aspect for Elephant Filmworks. With only eight episodes, each five to ten minutes in length, every scene offers rich development to build the stories and reflect the importance of safe driving.
“We were very fortunate to find Elephant Filmworks for this project. Our first meeting happened in late July, and I was equipped with a lot of great ideas, but also an open mind to their input,” says Charlie Breit, Internet marketing manager at Allstate. “Elephant offered a lot of creative insight on the project, which brought a successful result. KC, Kipp, and Peter’s talents are evident - they wrote, directed, edited and produced the series. Allstate was lucky to find such a talented team.”
About Elephant Filmworks
Operating out of Chicago and Los Angeles, Elephant Filmworks is a full service production and post-production company. Composed of KC Norman, Kipp Norman and Peter Williams, this award-winning team has a hand in every aspect of the process. From writing and producing to directing and editing for all facets of distribution, Elephant Filmworks has collaborated with a range of brands and agencies such as Heineken, the Chicago Bears, and Allstate to produce richly imagined and highly engaging commercial, documentary and web media that is as entertaining as it is diverse. For more information, visit Elephant Filmworks’ website at www.elephantfilmworks.com.
KC & Kipp Norman
Born and raised in Wisconsin, brothers KC and Kipp Norman have worked as a team since childhood, with the past ten years as a collaborative filmmaking team. KC received his degree in Fine Arts and pursued a career as a painter prior to joining his brother as a professional filmmaker in 2006. Kipp Norman received his degree in Creative Writing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where he graduated Phi Beta Kappa in 2003.
Elephant Filmworks was founded in 2006 in Chicago, and since its formation the brother team has directed and edited commercials, web video, documentaries, and film projects for some of the biggest and most recognizable brands in the world including Firestone, the Chicago Bears, Quaker Oats, Wrangler and Allstate Insurance.
Projects the Normans have worked on together have won numerous awards in both film festivals and commercial and industry competitions around the world, and in 2008, their short film “Audience Award Winner” had its world premiere at the prestigious Chicago International Film. Currently KC resides in Los Angeles, CA, and Kipp lives Chicago, IL.
Peter Williams
Born and raised in Neillsville, Wisconsin, Peter Williams received his degree in Mechanical Engineering from University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2001. During his time at UW, Williams met Kipp Norman and from there, the collaborations began. Williams has also worked as a consultant for both Accenture and Kodak in the States, with additional consulting for Accenture across the globe in Russia. Williams currently resides in Los Angeles, CA.
